Jay-Z Responds to Beyonce Pregnancy Rumors

Don't believe the hype. A week after rumors spread of Jay-Z and Beyonce expecting their first child together, the God MC is shutting down pregnancy rumors once and for all.
“It’s not going to happen,” Jay-Z told Australia's Daily Telegraph. “I’m just shooting down the rumors before they start.”
“They do that every slow news day," Hov continued. "This is like the fifth time. I think we have five kids now. No truth, but I wonder when people will stop giving it relevance? You can’t do the same subject. At least change the subject, they have to find a new one.”
While rumors of a pregnant Beyonce have been circling around for years, things reached bigger proportions last week with outlets confirming the news rather than speculating. Bey's mother, Tina Knowles, quickly shot the rumors down.

I’m here to clear the rumors up. The truth is that it’s not Beyonce that’s pregnant, it’s me,” Mama Knowles told Elle DeGeneres before quickly adding, “I’m kidding, I’m 56.”

Trey Songz Remembers Struggling Years With Drake

It's not uncommon to see Trey Songz and Drake together. The two young stars recently became spokesmen for Kodak's new So Kodak campaign. They routinely make appearances at each other's sold out shows and feature on each other's chart-topping songs.
The two may be one of the most successful BFF tandems in music today, but it wasn't always the case. Trey and Drake were friends in their struggling years. Back in '07, a burgeoning Trey appeared on little known Drake's single, "Replacement Girl." The video charted on "106 & Park," but did little to establish the rapper as a household name. That same year, Drizzy made a brief cameo in Trey's "Wonder Woman" video. Blink and you may have missed him. The clip debuted with a strong buzz, but quickly fizzled out. Three years later, the two are at the top of their games, which makes success that much sweeter, according to Trey.

"It's ironic, man. God is good," the R&B singer told BET. "We're both very hard workers. We're getting what we deserve right now I feel and to be at the top, look to my side and see my homeboy who was in the trenches with me and we was in the bottom together, you know, it's something very special to have."

Obama Appoints Record Number of Gay Officials

WASHINGTON – Less than halfway through his first term, President Barack Obama has appointed more openly gay officials than any other president in history.

(AP Photo/Carolyn Kaster, File)
Gay activists say the estimate of more than 150 appointments so far — from agency heads and commission members to policy officials and senior staffers — surpasses the previous high of about 140 reached during two full terms under President Bill Clinton.
"From everything we hear from inside the administration, they wanted this to be part of their efforts at diversity," said Denis Dison, spokesman for the Presidential Appointments Project of the Gay & Lesbian Leadership Institute.
The pace of appointments has helped to ease broader disappointment among gay rights groups that Obama has not acted more quickly on other fronts, such as ending the "don't ask, don't tell" policy that bans gays from serving openly in the military.
In a sign of how times have changed, few of the appointees — about two dozen required Senate confirmation — have stirred much controversy. It's a far cry from the 1993 furor surrounding Clinton's nomination of then-San Francisco Supervisor Roberta Achtenberg as assistant secretary for Housing and Urban Development.
Achtenberg was the first openly gay official to serve at such a senior level, and she won confirmation despite contentious hearings and Sen. Jesse Helms, R-N.C., who denounced her as a "militant extremist."
"It's both significant and rather ordinary," said Michael Cole, a spokesman for the gay rights group Human Rights Campaign. "It's a simple affirmation of the American ideal that what matters is how you do your job and not who you are."
Gay activists, among Obama's strongest supporters, had hoped he would be the first to appoint an openly gay Cabinet secretary. While that hasn't happened — yet — Obama did appoint the highest-ranking gay official ever when he named John Berry as director of the Office of Personnel Management, which oversees the nation's 1.9 million federal workers.
Other prominent names include Nancy Sutley, chairwoman of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, and Fred Hochberg, chairman of the Export-Import Bank. Obama also named Amanda Simpson, the first openly transgender appointee, as a senior technical adviser in the Commerce Department.
White House spokesman Shin Inouye confirmed the record number, saying Obama has hired more gay officials than the Clinton and George W. Bush administrations combined. He said Obama "is proud that his appointments reflect the diversity of the American public."
"He is committed to appointing highly qualified individuals for each post," Inouye said. "We have made a record number of openly LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender) appointments and we are confident that this number will only continue to grow."
Dison's group lists 124 of the appointees on its website. He said the remainder are not listed because they are lower-level officials not formally announced by the White House.
"We learn about a lot of these through informal networks and then work to confirm that they are indeed appointed and that they are openly LGBT," Dison said.
One Obama nominee who met some opposition was Chai Feldblum, a Georgetown University law professor nominated to serve on the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Concerned Women for America accused Feldblum of playing "a major role in pushing the homosexual and transsexual agenda on Americans." Other conservative groups blasted her role in drafting the Employment Nondiscrimination Act, a bill that would ban employers from discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. Obama is a strong supporter of that legislation.
Obama made Feldblum a recess appointment in March after an anonymous hold in the Senate held up her confirmation for months.
Another target for conservatives was Kevin Jennings, founder of the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network, who was named to oversee the Education Department's Office of Safe & Drug Free Schools. More than 50 House Republicans asked Obama to remove Jennings from the post after reports surfaced about advice he gave more than 20 years earlier after learning a gay student had sex with an older man.
Jennings conceded that he should have consulted medical or legal authorities instead of telling the 15-year-old boy that he hoped he had used a condom. The Obama administration defended Jennings and declined to remove him.
It was in early 2008 that the Gay & Lesbian Leadership Institute focused its Presidential Appointments Project on steering thousands of resumes of qualified gay professionals to White House jobs. Dison said that push has helped increase the numbers, though it certainly helped to have a more receptive White House.
Cole, of the Human Rights Campaign, called the increase a welcome development, but said there is more focus on real legislative gains, such as ending "don't ask, don't tell" and repealing the Defense of Marriage Act, which prohibits federal recognition of same-sex partnerships.
"For a community that is denied their equality, there will continue to be frustration at the pace of change," he said.

T.I. Says Prison Will Make Him a Better Person

T.I. says he's learned his lesson. With his 11-month prison sentence less than two weeks away, Tip returned to Ryan Cameron's V103 radio show to speak on his upcoming bid.
"After this, I will become a better person," Tip told Cameron. "I am not without flaw. One thing from my flaws that I have always done, I have accepted responsibility."
Tip also reunited with the young man he helped rescue from a suicide attempt last week. Though the good deed came days before T.I.'s court hearing, the rapper stressed it wasn't a publicity stunt.
As previously reported, Tip and his wife Tiny were arrested last month when cops found marijuana, codeine and ecstasy in the rapper's vehicle while he was still on probation for federal gun possession. His probation was revoked and he was sentenced to 11 months last week. Tip reportedly told the judge he needed help for drug addiction and begged him not to be sent back to prison.

T.I. Gets Axed from Body Spray Campaign

It looks like T.I. is suffering from a case of deja vu in light of his recent legal trouble. Less than a week after being sentenced to 11 months in prison for probation violation, Tip (born Clifford Harris) has reportedly been dropped from the Axe body spray campaign.
As previously reported, T.I. and his wife Tiny were arrested on drug possession in Los Angeles last month. Cops searched his Maybach and found ecstasy, marijuana and codeine.  Axe signed Tip to the campaign earlier this year, and the company is reportedly "troubled" by the rapper's arrest. Word is he's already been removed from the Web site.

This doesn't mark the first time Tip has lost endorsements. The rapper reportedly lost $12 million in endorsements when Ford dropped him shortly after he was convicted on federal gun charges.

It’s an Irn-Bru canoe!

Water good idea ... Tam Walker in his canoe

NGENIOUS Tam Walker shows he has a thirst for adventure - by paddling in a canoe made of Irn-Bru bottles.

The marine engineer constructed his one-man boat entirely out of two-litre fizzy drinks containers.
And the 55-year-old, of Airdrie, Lanarkshire, plans to paddle the wacky craft from coast to coast.

He said: "I got the idea after seeing all these old bottles bobbing around in the canal.

"I thought to myself 'they never seem to sink' and would make a good boat structure.
"So I started collecting old bottles and soon discovered the two-litre ones were the best to fit together."
Tam named his canoe the BB - Bottle Boat - Plastic Fantastic. Although the dad-of-three admits it wasn't all plain sailing.
He said: "On its first sea trial it sprung a couple of leaks. That was mainly because it was too narrow and it stretched when I sat in it. A bit more glue and gaffer tape soon solved that."

He said of his coast to coast plan: "I'm going to take it from the west to east coast along the Forth And Clyde and Union canals for charity."
