It’s an Irn-Bru canoe!

NGENIOUS Tam Walker shows he has a thirst for adventure - by paddling in a canoe made of Irn-Bru bottles.

The marine engineer constructed his one-man boat entirely out of two-litre fizzy drinks containers.
And the 55-year-old, of Airdrie, Lanarkshire, plans to paddle the wacky craft from coast to coast.

He said: "I got the idea after seeing all these old bottles bobbing around in the canal.

"I thought to myself 'they never seem to sink' and would make a good boat structure.
"So I started collecting old bottles and soon discovered the two-litre ones were the best to fit together."
Tam named his canoe the BB - Bottle Boat - Plastic Fantastic. Although the dad-of-three admits it wasn't all plain sailing.
He said: "On its first sea trial it sprung a couple of leaks. That was mainly because it was too narrow and it stretched when I sat in it. A bit more glue and gaffer tape soon solved that."

He said of his coast to coast plan: "I'm going to take it from the west to east coast along the Forth And Clyde and Union canals for charity."
