After his speech in Michigan, the president returned to D.C. where he and First Lady Michelle Obama attended the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. Per tradition, the president did a little comedy routine. “I saw Michael Steele backstage when we were taking pictures – AKA Notorious GOP,” Obama said as the crowd laughed. Former presidential candidate John McCain was also a joke target.

After receiving his Daily Briefing on Monday, the president will speak at the Commander in Chief Trophy Presentation with the Naval Academy in the White House’s Rose Garden in the afternoon. Obama will host a dinner for the Business Council in the State Dining Room later that evening.

The president will address the Business Council’s annual meeting on Tuesday in Washington, D.C. During his remarks, he’ll talk about what his administration is doing to push job creation and the role that the business community plays.

Mrs. Obama, along with Energy Secretary Steven Chu participated in the department’s 20th Annual National Science Bowl on Monday at the National Building Museum in D.C. Friday afternoon the first lady will host a Mother’s Day event in the White House’s East Room. The distinguished guests include former First Lady Rosalynn Carter and her granddaughter Sarah Carter, Tricia Nixon Cox, and Anne Eisenhower. In addition, spouses and mothers of troops and young women from Mrs. Obama’s mentoring program will attend with the notable women in their lives.
