After his speech in Michigan, the president returned to D.C. where he and First Lady Michelle Obama attended the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. Per tradition, the president did a little comedy routine. “I saw Michael Steele backstage when we were taking pictures – AKA Notorious GOP,” Obama said as the crowd laughed. Former presidential candidate John McCain was also a joke target.

Congratulating the Navy
After receiving his Daily Briefing on Monday, the president will speak at the Commander in Chief Trophy Presentation with the Naval Academy in the White House’s Rose Garden in the afternoon. Obama will host a dinner for the Business Council in the State Dining Room later that evening.
Business Council Meeting
The president will address the Business Council’s annual meeting on Tuesday in Washington, D.C. During his remarks, he’ll talk about what his administration is doing to push job creation and the role that the business community plays.
National Science Bowl
Mrs. Obama, along with Energy Secretary Steven Chu participated in the department’s 20th Annual National Science Bowl on Monday at the National Building Museum in D.C. The duo will address the more than 500 high school and middle school students from across the nation attending the competition. Here, Mrs. Obama shakes hands with student competitors.

Economy Speech
Obama will travel to New Jersey on Wednesday to talk about the economy.
Agency Visit
On Wednesday, the first lady will visit the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which marks her 17th agency visit. During her time there she will greet staff and deliver remarks.
Cinco de Mayo Celebration
After he returns from New Jersey, the president and first lady will attend a Cinco de Mayo celebration at the White House.
Security Meetings
President Obama will meet with his national security team on Afghanistan and Pakistan on Thursday.

Women’s Leadership Forum
On Friday, Mrs. Obama will give the keynote address at the Democratic National Committee Women’s Leadership Forum’s 16th Annual National Issues Conference held at a D.C. hotel.
Celebrating Mothers
Friday afternoon the first lady will host a Mother’s Day event in the White House’s East Room. The distinguished guests include former First Lady Rosalynn Carter and her granddaughter Sarah Carter, Tricia Nixon Cox, and Anne Eisenhower. In addition, spouses and mothers of troops and young women from Mrs. Obama’s mentoring program will attend with the notable women in their lives.
Commencement Speech
On Saturday, First Lady Michelle Obama will deliver the commencement address at the historically Black University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
