50 CENT RIVALRIES: WHAT'S THE SCORE?

50 v. Ja Rule
50 v. Ja Rule
The biggest bout in his history also served as the launching pad for his career. 50 Cent's lyrical attack on Ja Rule was an extension of a real-life beef between the two Queens MCs. Unfortunately, for Ja, 50 has this one by a longshot. 50 SCORE: WIN

50 v. Fat Joe
50 v. Fat Joe
In some cases, 50's beef with Ja Rule extended to his friends and collaborators. When Ja teamed up with Fat Joe and Jadakiss on the track "New York," 50 took offense, believing that Joe was picking sides. 50 and Joe have gone back and forth for years stemming from this, but Fat Joe doesn't seem to capitalize off of it. 50 SCORE: WIN

50 v. Jadakiss
50 v. Jadakiss
Even though 50 Cent almost reached out to align himself with the Lox by proclaiming they were the only other hard rappers out (on his song "Backdown"), the "New York" collaboration with Ja Rule quietly made Jadakiss a rival also. Still 50 prevails. 50 SCORE: WIN

50 v. Nas
50 v. Nas
Early in 50's career, he toured with Nas while the two were both signed to Columbia Records. Still, 50 caught feelings when Nas replaced him on a Jennifer Lopez remix. There have never been records aimed at each other, but rather subliminal disses in the occasional verse. 50 SCORE: DRAW

50 v. Lil' Kim
50 v. Lil' Kim
This is not an obvious rivalry. 50 Cent and Lil' Kim on the surface might even appear friendly, as per their collaboration on "Magic Stick." But tension built between the two rappers after 50 refused to do a video for the cut which was on Kim's album. The two reconciled in 2007. 50 SCORE: WIN

50 v. Jay-Z
50 v. Jay-Z
It's the battle 50's been waiting for, but Jay-Z refuses to give it to him. 50 Cent has thrown pot shots at Jay-Z ever since his "How To Rob" record. Jay's response: zilch. none. He is the bigger artist, for now. 50 SCORE: LOSS

50 v. Game
50 v. Game
On the outside, it may appear that 50 Cent got the best of Game by signing him to his G-Unit label and later dropping him. But Game's survival and improvement as an MC has proved otherwise. 50 could have made more money with him. 50 SCORE: LOSS

50 v. Young Buck
50 v. Young Buck
Crying on the phone is a big no-no in rap music. 50 Cent won this one by a landslide when he taught Buck the biggest lesson: don't bite the hand that feeds you. 50 SCORE: WIN

50 v. Cam'Ron
50 v. Cam'Ron
50 and Cam'Ron's silent feud goes all the way back to 50's Shady/Aftermath debut after a very scathing diss toward Cam'Ron was removed from his album. Though the diss never made the album, Cam heard about it. Their beef escalated on a humorous phone call on NYC's Hot 97 where they traded verbal jabs. Sometimes, 50 wins when a rapper just takes the bait. 50 SCORE: WIN

50 v. Kanye West
50 v. Kanye West
This is the David and Goliath story. 50 Cent, being the bully that he can be, challenged Kanye to a "who can sell more" of their albums dropping on the same day. Kanye clowned his own non-violent persona, never taking part in a 50-style battle. But in the first week of sales, Kanye's music proved superior and he sold more. 50 SCORE: LOSS

50 v. T.I.
50 v. T.I.
50 Cent made an under-handed comment against T.I.'s gun charge. Though it can be argued that there have been some subliminals, T.I. never truly responded. As the king of the South, it's quite possible T.I. could take 50 on, but the jury is still out. 50 SCORE: DRAW

50 v. Lil' Wayne
50 v. Lil' Wayne
Why won't Lil' Wayne ever respond to 50 Cent? He's addressed it before, recognizing 50's ability to crush his opponents. But while 50 focused on baiting MCs, including Wayne, Weezy focused on being the best. And right now, Wayne is the hottest MC. 50 SCORE: LOSS

50 v. Rick Ross
50 v. Rick Ross
Hmmm. This is an interesting one. Because Rick Ross was "exposed" as a corrections officer and clowned in various 50 Cent-starred internet videos, one might argue Ross lost. But actually, after the battle, it seems as though Rick Ross's star power increased, putting him on higher level. And the music has gotten better, whereas 50's music: not so much. 50 SCORE: DRAW

50 v. Shyne
50 v. Shyne
It's no secret that 50 tried to sign Shyne to his G-Unit imprint, but after his release, it never happened. Shyne is currently in the lab (possibly working on something to respond to 50's few jabs). 50 SCORE: TBD
