WE WANT PRENUP!

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon

Mariah has worked hard for the money and she's not going to lose it. Back in March 2008, Fox News reported Carey does have a prenup. According to Fox, "Mariah apparently told a mutual pal of ours: 'Anyone who thinks we didn't have a prenup is smoking something!'" 

 

 

Nas and Kelis

Reports say Nas and Kelis didn't have a prenuptial agreement. To date, the two are in court and some reports claim Nas will have to pay Kelis over $55,000 a month in child support, plus spousal support, legal fees and Kelis' accounting fees.

 

 

Madonna and Guy Ritchie

People look at Madonna as a shrewd businesswoman but when it came to marriage, rumor has it the Material Girl didn't get a prenup. Even though Guy Ritchie is a wealthy man, Madonna still had to fork over somewhere between $76 to 92 million when they divorced. 

 

Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown

Whitney Houston had a tight prenuptial agreement when she married Bobby Brown. When the couple officially divorced in 2005, Bobby Brown didn't get any of Whitney's money. 

 

 

 

Janet Jackson and Rene Elizondo

Jackson and Elizondo signed a prenuptial agreement when they were secretly married in 1991. After divorcing in 2000, Elizondo challenged the prenup, claiming he was behind the success of many of her projects such as 1992's "janet." album. In 2002, US Weekly reported the two reached a divorce settlement. The amount was never public, but US Weekly claimed it was an estimated $15 million.

 

 

 

Lionel & Diane Richie

The divorce of the Richies was tabloid heaven. He married Diane, who was his second wife, in 1996 and by '04 they were divorced. Diane demanded massive cash for a clothing allowance, manicures and even a plastic surgery budget (ouch!). Diane allegedly walked away with an estimated $20 million. 

 

 

 

 

Mike Tyson and Robin Givens

Tyson and Givens married in February 1988 and divorced in September of that same year. There was no prenupital agreement signed. Reports claimed that Givens walked away with a seven-figure financial settlement. However, Givens has said in several interviews that she didn't received any money from the former heavyweight champion of the world. 

 

 

 

Shaunie and Shaq O’Neal

The two signed a prenuptial agreement -- but there was a twist. According to RadarOnline.com, in order for Shaunie to receive a solid financial settlement in the event of a divorce, she would need to prove infidelity. Shaunie hired a private investigator and the rest is celebrity history. Supposedly, Shaunie reached a hefty settlement..

 

Halle Berry and Eric Benet

Halle is not only beautiful but she is one smart woman. She signed a prenuptial agreement when she married Eric Benet. There were rumors the soul singer was considering challenging the agreement. In the end, Eric didn't receive any spousal support. Berry has since said she will never marry again.

 

 

 

Britney Spears and K-Fed

The story goes that Britney Spears did not want a prenup because she was so secure in her love with Kevin Federline. Luckily, Brit came to her senses and there was a prenuptial agreement. When the two divorced, K-Fed only walked away with one million versus the several million he could've had without the agreement. 

 

 

 

Michael and Juanita Jordan

Ironically, the two did sign a prenup. According to the UK Times, in the event of a divorce, Juanita was entitled to half of Michael's fortune. After 17 years of marriage they divorced and Juanita allegedly walked away with 168 million -- one of the biggest celebrity divorce settlements in history!

 

 

 

Usher Raymond and Tameka Foster

According to People, Usher had an air-tight prenup when he married Tameka Foster. When the two officially divorced in August 2009, there was little dispute. Allegedly, Foster walked away with very little money.

 

 

 

The-Dream and Christina Milian

While the two are newly married and just welcomed a baby, word on the street is that The-Dream did not sign a prenup. Surely everyone on this list would have some advice for both of the stars!

 

 

Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee

It's not clear whether the two had a prenup, but in early 2009 it was reported that Lee walked away with a $40,000 monthly check and plus some. Nonetheless, the two have remained friends and Russell has showed up several times on Kimora's show "Life in the Fab Lane."
