Per TMZ.com, the Bravado International Group— a company with the rights to distributing shirts, posters and other MJ items—is suing 95 companies for allegedly selling bootlegged Michael Jackson merchandise, making them in violation of copyright.
Small start-up companies like Bling Bling Inc. to well known businesses like Dr. Jay's Inc. have all been listed as defendants.
In related news, a commemorative coin manufacturer says it paid $750, 000 for rights to make a Michael Jackson coin, but was refused approval and has not had the money returned. The company, First Commemorative Mint, is suing Bravado International Group Merchandising Services and co-defendant, Triumph International, for the rights to make the coin.
