It's brawl over for Miss England after club row

Winner ... but Rachel Christie has quit

MISS England Rachel Christie sensationally quit yesterday amid claims she fought with another beauty over Gladiator love Tornado.
The 21-year-old - an athlete and niece of Olympic sprinter Linford Christie - said she would now concentrate on clearing her name.

She has been replaced by Miss England runner-up Kat Hodge, 22, who is an Army Lance Corporal as well as a model. She has been given special leave so she can set her sights on winning Miss World in South Africa on December 12.

The Sun exclusively revealed how Rachel was alleged to have hit Miss Manchester - Sara Beverley Jones, 24 - during a row over Tornado at a trendy Manchester nightclub.

After the fight Sara - Tornado's ex - went to hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

Rachel was arrested on suspicion of assault and is on police bail.

But Tornado - real name David McIntosh, 23 - yesterday revealed how Sara trashed his bedroom and scrawled "Slag" in lipstick on the walls. He claimed Sara got into his house while he was out with new love Rachel.

He said: "I came home to find my room completely trashed. Sara had got hold of Rachel's make-up bag and there was cream, perfume and powder everywhere.

"The walls had 'Slag!' scrawled over them in Rachel's bright red lipstick. It was a terrible mess, I was really furious and Rachel was so upset.

"It certainly put an end to any thoughts we had of ending the night with a romp."

Tornado said Sara - an extra in Hollyoaks - came round a few days later, said she was sorry and helped him clean up.

Tornado added: "Now I am devastated for Rachel. I thought she had a real chance of winning the Miss World title.

"I am just so gutted. I feel bad that she's lost out on that because of me."

But replacement Kat is a real fighter - and was dubbed "Combat Barbie" by Army pals after tackling an armed Iraqi suspect while on duty in Basra. Miss England organiser Angie Beasley said: "Kat will make a great Miss England. She feels sorry for Rachel for having to step down but she will rise to the challenge."
