In the money ... hip-hop star Dr Dre
RAPPER Dr Dre was celebrating yesterday after selling a share of his must-have headphones brand for £191MILLION.
The 46-year-old US hip-hop star handed over 51 per cent of Beats Electronic to Asian smart phone giant HTC.Dre - who has produced for Eminem and 50 Cent - co-founded the firm just three years ago.
The Beats, costing up to £350 a set, have become popular fashion items. Lady GaGa has launched a range and Premier League footballers are seen with them.
HTC's Peter Chou said: "It's an exciting brand that's been built around something very special."
