BRITNEY SPEARS and RIHANNA sent temperatures soaring at the Billboard Awards last night when they smooched onstage.

Clad in matching bondage-style bodices complete with buckles, saucy straps and fish-nets, the pair sizzled onstage as they danced around with topless dancers and slid provocatively up and down poles.
They also donned sexy masks, got tied up in kinky chains and took part in a pillow fight during their heart-racing performance of S&M.
Feathers then flew into the air before the pair KISSED each other.

Their embrace brought back memories of Britney's famous smooch with MADONNA at the MTV Awards eight years ago.

Since then Britney's career has wobbled. But her vigorous workouts ahead of her Femme Fatale tour this summer have got Britney back into tip top shape and she more than held her own against triple winner Rihanna's incredibly toned physique.

Not content with a star-turn with Rihanna, Britney later gave fans a sneak peek of what they can expect when she hits the road this summer by performing Till The World Ends alongside rapper NICKI MINAJ.

It was appropriate choice of tune considering an evangelical broadcaster had predicted the world would end 24 hours before the Billboard Music Awards took place.

But it was rap icon Eminem who landed the night's biggest honours - among them Artist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year and Rap Album (Recovery) and Rap Song (I Love the Way You Lie).

Justin, wearing a shimmering gold and black dinner jacket, made a point of not making a big deal of his date for the evening - SELENA GOMEZ - as he accepted his awards, thanking his mother, who was sitting right next to his girlfriend, but not the Disney star.

But it was the touching tribute from her mum TINA that trumped all the big names.

She said: "I can remember when she was a kid and she saw Whitney Houston and she said: 'One day I'm gonna do that,' and I was like: 'Yeah baby, OK, that's really nice...'
"But one day I was actually at the Super Bowl and she was performing the National Anthem and I just cried because it was unbelievable that she had done so many of the things that she said that she'd do."

Barbra then added: "Great performers have a sound and style that is all their own and that is why so many people love Beyonce - and so do!"
Michelle had the final word, stating: "I'm very proud of her, I'm very proud of the woman that she is, the role model that she provides to so many women."

Beyonce then showed why she is worthy of all the high praise by performing her new track Run The World (Girls), first with a synchronised backdrop and then with an army of female dancers. The stunning set earned her a standing ovation.
Her mum took the stage with Beyonce's nephew JULEZ, who declared: "I love you Beyonce," to present the award to the R&B superstar.

Sweaty and out of breath, Beyonce told her mother she is "a phenomenal woman". She also thanked her father MATTHEW, ex-Destiny's Child band mates KELLY ROWLAND and MICHELLE and name checked the "original members" of the girl band.
She then smiled as she thanked her "best friend," adding: "I love me some JAY-Z" as her proud husband smiled and nodded his head from the audience.
