RIHANNA clutches a purse emblazoned with a cannabis leaf and a wears a rasta-style hat - on the day America's counterculture celebrates marijuana.

April 20 has evolved into an unofficial holiday where people gather to celebrate and consume the illegal drug.
And the songbird used a trip to see singer LAUREN HILL in Los Angeles last night to show her allegiance in a not very subtle fashion.
The consummation of the drug is central to the Rastafarian ideology which has adopted the colours green, gold and red as one of its most important visual trademarks.
A less surprising supporter of the day, which is known as 4/20, was weed-loving rapper SNOOP DOGG.

He posted a picture of himself holding a large glass smoking device on Twitter. He also wrote: "Happy 420 to d whole world from snoop dogg aka bob marley reincarnated pupils dilated!! Hahaha smoke a zip n dip to a new trip."
