R&B singer Lloyd has feelings. When it comes to making music, he can't help but feel it. Over the last couple of years, Lloyd has been taking up instruments to convey that feeling through something besides his voice.
"I love music that much and as far back as I can remember, I’ve always had the access to the instruments. It’s just getting those lazy bones out of my body," Lloyd reveals to BET.com. Lloyd has started with guitar, but says it won't stop there. "I think anytime you can reach a place in music, where it’s all feeling and it’s not so much about hitting this note or that note. I think that’s when it’s the most organic and classic sounds come out of a person."
Lloyd will perform his hit single "Lay It Down" on BET's Rip The Runway, airing March 21st at 10PM. The song, which has been burning up the airwaves at urban radio, is a more mature sound for the singer. He adds, "[This album] is a bit more mature than the music I released in the past, because of time and age and information that I acquired over the years. I’m not ready to let go of my youth though, so it’s still a little wild, still a little raunchy, still a little racy. It's about that balance that’s the kind of music that I make now."
