Year's looking at you, kid ... style winners from 2010
FASHION fans were kept busy in 2010.
From the emergence of a new royal star in glossily gorgeous Kate Middleton to the shock tactics of meat-wearing Lady GaGa, we have gawped and gasped at the stars in equal measure.The Oscars proved a style snore back in March but just two months later all was forgiven as the A-list turned out in force at the Costume Institute Gala in New York in May.
Kelly Brook won the beachwear war in June and Christina Hendricks proved you would have to be a Mad Man not to lust after her killer curves at the Emmys in August.
Autumn treated us to the handbags-at-dawn diva fun that was Cheryl vs Dannii on the X Factor.
And then Emma Watson gave us an early Christmas present with her angelic elfin crop at the Harry Potter premiere.

1. Lady GaGa wears a meat dress (12 September)
There were an offal lot of fabulous fashion moments in 2010 - but Lady GaGa's meat dress at the MTV Video Awards takes the brisket.The Franc Fernandez creation was made from six pieces of sewn-together steak teamed with a matching meat bag and hat.
Animal rights fans expressed outrage at the carnivorous couture but fashion pundits applauded GaGa's shock tactics.
2. Kate Middleton celebrates her engagement to Prince William (16 November)
A right royal style star was born as Kate Middleton took to the international stage in this blue Issa London dress.The clinging sapphire number by Kate's favourite designer - a snip at £399! - became an instant hit with stores on both sides of the Atlantic selling out in a few days.
Tesco cashed in on the royal frenzy by creating a similar budget version of the frock for £16 - which promptly sold out online in just one hour.
Hands up who can't wait to see the wedding dress?
3. Christina Hendricks steals the show at the Emmys (30 August)
Making the breast of her stunning curves, Mad Men star Christina struck a blow for Size Zero in a stunning lavender Zac Posen dress at the annual awards bash.Women everywhere applauded the 35-year-old star's style and Lib Dem MP Lynne Featherstone called her a "role model" to British girls.

4. Dannii wins the X Factor style war (9 October - 12 December)
You Dan have to be a genius to spot the best dressed woman in this room!This year turned X Factor judge Dannii Minogue into a style icon thanks to her clever weekly choices of flirty but sophisticated dresses in nudes, black, red and white - like this pretty J'Aton Couture creation.
Fashion fans heaped praise on the new mum ... while pouring scorn on Cheryl Cole's tatty-looking threads.
Chezza pulled off a few classic looks in the final weeks of the series but her early howlers will surely see her judged one of the worst dressed stars of 2010.

5. Victoria Beckham wows the fashion world (10 November)
From Queen WAG to fashion world favourite, who would have guessed that Victoria Beckham would be one of the highest rated fashion designers of 2010?Yet snooty couture critics have queued up to praise the simple yet stunningly-cut creations from Posh's fashion line.
This 60s-style yellow number perfectly illustrates the understated look that has won Mrs B celebrity fans including Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth Paltrow, Heidi Klum and Cameron Diaz.
6. Emma Watson is cream of the crop at the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows premiere (21 November)
The world went Potty for Emma Watson's chic new hairdo back in November.Sporting the cute Mia Farrow-style crop and a see-through lace and feather dress by Rafael Lopez for Atelier Mayer, the star proved she's now a spellbinding presence on the fashion scene at the wizarding blockbuster's opening night.
What a world away from the shy, pale 11-year-old girl who first graced a Harry Potter red carpet in 2001.
7. Katy Perry lights up the Costume Institute Gala in New York (3 May)
Usually a fan of lurid lurex and eye-popping fancy dress, Katy Perry's choice for the Costume Institute Gala Benefit seemed initially rather demure.But then on went the LED lights - and the Firework singer stole every snapper's attention for the rest of the night.
Created by London-based company CuteCircuit, Katy's dress contained concealed rows of fairy lights operated by a switch in her bra.
The star said: "I feel like I really have to represent those girls that just go for it and do their own thing.
"I think sometimes in fashion it can get a little stuffy so I wanted to lighten up!"
8. Rihanna swaps sleaze for sophistication at the American Music Awards (21 November)
If it's tight, short and leather, Rihanna is never far away.So we nearly choked on our breakfast cuppa at snaps of the star looking every inch the red carpet diva in backless Elie Saab.
In a year of constant reinvention, this sassy but chic, see-through gown showed the girrrrl had truly become a woman.
9. Sarah Jessica Parker attends the Sex And The City 2 premiere (24 May)
The film may have been a stinker but SJP pulled off her final classic Carrie move in this eye-catching fluorescent gown by Valentino Couture.The jury's out on the fake tan but New York still sizzled for the fabulous foursome thanks to this one daring but darling dress.

10. Kelly Brook's bikini marathon in Barbados (26 June - 3 July)
What better way to mend a broken heart than show your ex-fella what he's missing?Just days after announcing her split from rugby star Danny Cipriani, Kelly Brook jetted off to Barbados with mates.
Wearing her favourite Vix bikini in a different colourway each day, she made the £165 two-piece an instant bestseller with retailers struggling to keep up with demand.
Kim Kardashian, Halle Berry and Megan Fox are also fans of the figure-flattering must-have but our Kel takes the crown for beach babe of the year.
