IT'S time to look forward to the year ahead.
And there is a lot to get excited about, from Prince William marrying Kate Middleton to music festivals, new films and, er, cheese-rolling.Here is KATE JACKSON's guide to what's coming up in 2011.
January

Tour ... Kara and Artem
BBC 8-9: Comic JENNY ECLAIR, fresh from the I'm A Celebrity jungle, kicks off her Old Dog, New Tricks tour with two nights at Norwich Playhouse - and we promise there won't be a witchetty grub in sight.
9: The World Professional Darts Championship final at Lakeside Country Club, Surrey.
14: Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour starts at Nottingham's Trent FM Arena. Watch 2010 winner KARA TOINTON and her professional partner ARTEM CHIGVINTSEV shake their booties.
February

Watch out ... Cybermen about
7: The Wizard Of Oz opens at the London Palladium. Danielle Hope plays Dorothy after winning the role on Andrew Lloyd Webber's TV search Over The Rainbow.
15: A bigger-than-ever bash is expected at the BRIT AWARDS, moved east this year across London from Earl's Court to the O2 Arena.
20: Look out for Cybermen. The Doctor Who Experience stage show opens at London's Olympia.
21: BOYZONE are in Liverpool to kick off their Brother Tour, which runs until March 12. On March 8 they play London's O2 Arena.
27: Football's CARLING CUP FINAL at Wembley.

In demand ... Justin Bieber
25-26: The Peterborough Festival of Antiques at the East of England Showground.
This twice-yearly event - 2011's second festival will run from September 30 to October 1 - began in 1999 and now attracts some 1,700 stallholders and 15,000 visitors travelling from all over Europe.
31: Comedian PETER KAY is at London's O2 Arena until April 4, then returns for extra dates from June 6 to 10.
The Phoenix Nights star is billed as the world's most successful stand-up - and his book, The Sound of Laughter, was the No1 bestselling autobiography in the UK.

Wembley show ... Katy Perry

9: Singer KATY PERRY's California Dreams UK tour reaches Wembley Arena. There is big demand to see Mrs Russell Brand - a second leg starts October 12 in Sheffield.
16 till May 2: Quiet please, The Crucible Theatre, Sheffield, hosts the WORLD SNOOKER CHAMPIONSHIP.
17: If you're not taking part in the Virgin LONDON MARATHON show your support on the route. Last year's event raised a record half a billion pounds for charity.
29: Get the bunting out, organise a street party and wave the flag on PRINCE WILLIAM and KATE MIDDLETON's wedding day.
May
14: The 130th FA Cup Final, at Wembley, which is followed on May 21 by the FA Women's Cup Final at Coventry City's Ricoh Arena. 
Cheese chasers ... contest in Gloucestershire
SWNS 26: Hay Festival in Powys, Wales. BILL CLINTON dubbed the literary fest: "The Woodstock of the mind."
28: Wembley hosts the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL.
27: Manband TAKE THAT's Progress tour starts in Sunderland. Demand for tickets was so great it crashed the Ticketmaster site.
30: Coopers Hill Cheese Roll. Competitors hurl rounds of Double Gloucester down the hill near Brockworth, Gloucs.
June
3: Cotswold Olimpick Games at Dover's Hill, Chipping Campden, Gloucs. The annual event honours the ancient Games of Greece. 4: Racegoers will head to Epsom for the INVESTEC DERBY.

RockNess gig ... Kasabian
Dave Hogan 10-12: Leicester band KASABIAN star at the RockNess festival, on the banks of Scotland's Loch Ness.
11: Man Versus Horse Marathon in Llanwrtyd Wells, Powys. Runners and riders race over 22 miles.
20 till July 3: A fortnight of WIMBLEDON tennis.
22nd: Glee Tour starts at the MEN Arena, Manchester.
22-26 June: Gigantic music fest GLASTONBURY returns.
July

The end ... Harry Potter
Warner Bros 14-17: Golf - THE OPEN at Royal St George's, Kent.
15: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Say goodbye to Harry, DANIEL RADCLIFFE, in the final movie of the series.
20: Catch the Batman Live theatre show. For the first time, the DC Comics superhero stars in an all-action arena adventure. Tour starts at the MEN Arena, Manchester.
21: England's cricketers begin a Test series against India at Lord's.
TBC: Electro-pop singer/ drummer FLORRIE is due to release her debut album this summer. Tipped for big things.
TBC: Singer JOE WORRICKER, another star pick for 2011, also releases his debut.
August

Party time ... Notting Hill
20-21: Thousands of music fans will head to Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex, and Weston Park, Staffs, for the V FESTIVAL.
27: Pride Parade, Manchester, part of the gay Pride Festival. The 21st anniversary, so expect an even more colourful spectacle than usual.
28-29: NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL. The largest street festival in Europe started in 1966 and attracts more than a million revellers.
26-28: The massive LEEDS AND READING FESTIVALS.
One of the most famous events in festival history was in 1992 when Nirvana played their last UK gig and frontman Kurt Cobain came on stage in a wheelchair as a joke.
September

Rampage ... Matt Banahan
11: Comic ALAN CARR kicks off his tour, Spexy Beast, at the Brighton Centre.
9-Oct 23: The 2011 Rugby World Cup, expected to be the biggest sporting event ever held in New Zealand.
The likes of MATT BANAHAN, will hope to be part of an England team desperate to repeat their 2003 triumph.
Around 70,000 visitors are due to attend the tournament.
October
2: World Pea Throwing Championships at the Lewes Arms, Lewes, East Sussex. Defrosted frozen peas are used in the annual contest.

7-9: Catch the final race of the season at the MCE Insurance BRITISH SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIPS at Brands Hatch, Kent.
21-23: BBC Good Food Show at the SECC Glasgow. Features more than 500 exhibitors plus celebrity chef demonstrations and tastings.
TBC: Music awards the MOBOs. In 2010 TINIE TEMPAH won Best Newcomer, PROFESSOR GREEN Best UK Hip Hop/Grime and JLS Best UK Act and Best Album.
November

Tennis ace ... Andy Murray
18: Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Opening of the first of two films based on the fourth and final instalment of STEPHENIE MEYER's vampire romance novels.
20-27: ATP World Tour tennis finals at London's O2, starring the world's eight best players, hopefully including Brit ANDY MURRAY.
TBC: I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! returns with another batch of testicle-munching celebs in the Aussie jungle.
December

Honoured ... The Millies
16: Release of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol starring Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt and British funnyman SIMON PEGG as Benji Dunn.
TBC: The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing finals. There will be no escaping the threat of sequins and poor song choices as TV's biggest marathons come to a close.
TBC: The Sun's annual star-studded awards THE MILLIES, to honour our military heroes.
