KINGSTON, Jamaica – Efforts are under way to clean up an oil spill in the harbor of Jamaica's capital.
The island's emergency management agency says the slick in Kingston Harbor is located between an oil refinery and a power station.
The agency said in a news release Sunday that police are investigating the origin of the spill, which was discovered Saturday.
Officials say the oil contamination was being cleared up and had had no direct impact on the city itself. However, it was not immediately clear how much fuel had spilled into the water.
Authorities are still investigating a Nov. 22 spill in the capital's harbor, the seventh- largest natural harbor in the world.
