HE Queen sent her engagement congratulations to Royal sweethearts Wills and Kate - on Twitter.

Shortly after Clarence House announced the news a tweet appeared on the monarchy's social networking site from Her Majesty and Prince Philip.
The short message read: "The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are absolutely delighted at the news of Prince William and Catherine Middleton's engagement."

William's father the Prince of Wales also tweeted his joy that his eldest son was set to marry next year.
A message from the Prince on the site said: "The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton."
The website also carried the news of the Royal engagement with a 'wall' message.
