Akon Says Releasing Michael Jackson Album Isn't Disrespectful

Akon doesn't agree with will.i.am.
As previously reported, will, who worked on songs with Michael Jackson before the singer's death, doesn't think, "Michael," the gloved one's posthumous album, should be released.
"Whoever put it out and is profiting off of it, I want to see how cold they are ... He just wasn't any ordinary artist," will told Entertainment Weekly."He was a hands-on person. To me it's disrespectful. There's no honoring."
Kon, who's featured on the first single off the LP, "Hold My Hand," doesn't see it that way. TMZ recently caught up with the singer and got his side of the story.
"That's probably Will's opinion," he told TMZ. "Personally, I think it's keeping his legacy alive if you ask me. I don't see anything disrespectful about it. You know, he got his peoples taking care of it. We all did records that we actually worked on together on the album. These records would have came out whether he's alive or dead. I think this actually helps to keep his legacy alive. I honestly disagree with that."

Michael Jackson's "Michael" featuring guest appearances by Akon, Lenny Kravitz and 50 Cent, is scheduled to hit stores December 14.
