TROUBLED pop diva Britney Spears is to guest star in Glee - but bosses insist she will be handled with "kid gloves".

Britney, 28, will film a cameo in an episode paying tribute to her songs in the upcoming second series of the musical hit.
But boss Ryan Murphy said it will not focus on the turbulent personal life of the singer - who was hospitalised in 2008 after having a breakdown and shaving off her hair.

He said: "Britney, I think 100 per cent, is going to be on the episode. She is going to come and do a couple of scenes.
"We're handling Britney with sort of kid gloves. I really admire what she's done with her life and how she's turned things around."
Murphy said Britney's music will feature in fantasy sequences set in motion when the characters visit the dentist and are put under anaesthetic.
And Murphy hinted that she will be playing a version of herself in a Where's Wally? type segment - a reference to the kids' cartoon character who hides in pictures.
He added: "It's her idea. She sort of wants to do a 'Where's Britney?'
"I met with Britney years and years and years ago and I've always loved her.
"The reason we're doing the show is because so many of the kids working on the show say, 'We grew up with Britney. We want to do Britney'. So I said, 'OK'."
The new series kicks off in the States next month and in the UK on E4 later this year.
