BRITS will soon be able to film their own Avatar-style movies with the launch of the world's first 3D home camcorder.
The £1,300 gadget, on sale in September, uses two special lenses and was developed with Hollywood film studios.Users can edit 3D content, copy films to their computer or burn them on to DVD and Blu-Ray Discs. They need a 3D TV to watch the films.
The Panasonic HDC-SDT750 model features detachable lenses so owners can still film in 2D.
Panasonic UK spokesman Barnaby Sykes said: "3D technology is the future of entertainment.
"Imagine filming your baby's first steps in 3D. It will bring your precious memories to life."
Demand is expected to be high and experts predict film website YouTube will soon open its own 3D channel.
