Kerry Washington is an Actress Turned Trustee

This past Friday, George Washington University announced that actress and apparent political activist Kerry Washington would be joining their board of trustees. Washington came in town for the event, and graduated from the university in 1998, receiving an Alumni Achievement Award in 2008. Washington said about her appointment:

“The university is so important to me and to who I am as a professional to how I do what I do…I hold my time here as a student in a very important place in my heart and I’m thrilled to remain a part of the GW family in whatever way I can.”
