Kanye West Cleared Of Airport Assault Charges

Kanye West is a smart man. Not only was his generous Thanksgiving Day handout a great look for his tarnished image, it was also the final piece to his community service for an altercation with two photographers at the LAX airport on September 11, 2008.

West and his road manager, Don Crowley were charged with battery, grand theft and vandalism following an encounter where Crowley and West destroyed camera equipment after requesting the photographers to cease snapping photos of West.

Blair Burke, Kanye’s lawyer, managed to knock down his clients’ punishment to just 50 hours of community service. If completed without incident in addition to attending anger management classes, the judge would agree to dismiss the charges.

Burke and Shawn Holley, Crowley’s legal rep, provided records that their clients had finished their hours by working with The Red Cross. West and Crowley are now clear of the assault charges.
