Attack ... lion and buffalo battle it out
THIS lioness got a real case of roar-d rage when it attacked a buffalo on a busy safari track.
The stunning confrontation happened just yards from gawking motorists taking the main route through a popular national park.
Awestruck nature lovers watched as the determined lady lion tried to bring down the one ton buffalo — on her OWN.
And the pair were so engaged in their battle that they crossed just feet from cars without seeming to notice the stunned passengers.
The gladitorial battle lasted an incredible eight hours — but neither animal could seem to gain the upper hand.
The attack at the Kruger National Park, in South Africa, was captured on film by tourist Muhammed Patel.
Muhammed, 24, arrived at the scene just moments after the battle began.
The business owner said: "It was just like watching a wildlife documentary unfold before your very eyes, except this time we were in it too."
Witnesses say the buffalo had been attacked by a pack of lions earlier that morning, but had managed to injure all but one of them.
Muhammed continued: "Apparently this buffalo bull had been targeted and isolated and then attacked by the six lionesses, but he managed to overpower them all.
"All six were injured by the raging bull and lions were being flung around for fun.
"Except this girl clearly hadn't taken the hint and was still trying to bring him down, both of them looked exhausted and they were both injured."
The drama unfolded on the Orpen Road which is the main route through the world famous park.
The pair had disappeared by the next morning.
Muhammed said: "I'd like to think the bull got away."
