Looks like the Sen. John McCain can’t even keep a cohesive campaign in his household. Even though the Republican Senator from Arizona made a point of not supporting gay marriage during his 2008 run for president; his wife and daughter have made it abundantly clear that they feel opposite.
Cindy McCain posed for the celebrity endorsed NOH8 campaign after approaching the organization. NOH8 is a gay rights group which opposes California Proposition 8, a ballot measure passed in the state banning same sex marriage.
The group expressed their surprise at Mrs. McCain’s support, stating that;
“In the year since we’ve started the NOH8 Campaign we’ve often been surprised at some of the different individuals who have approached us showing their support. Few though, have surprised us more than Cindy McCain.”

Meghan McCain, also openly supports gay marriage- a move that had almost had a Republican George Washington University group cancel her key note speech for National Equality Week. Meghan tweeted this past week that;
“I couldn’t be more proud of my mother for posing for the NOH8 campaign. I think more Republicans need to start taking a stand for equality.”
These unlikely ladies are definitely redefining what it means to be republican in this country. Is it possible that we’re seeing a revolution of thought in the Republican Party; where issues of morality are not the preeminent reason to be a member of the GOP? We’ll see.
A little off topic here, but Real World DC cast members Andrew Woods, Josh Colon and Mike Manning also stopped by the NOH8 studios to pose.
What do you think about Mrs. McCain and Meghan McCain posing for NOH8?

I now know that Cindy McCain is an independant thinker instead of a sheep who follows the flock, good for her. I applaud her endorsement of the NOH8 gay marriage campaign. I am sure many of you will approve.
