United match Euro record

PLASTIC FANTASTIC ... Valencia pounces for winner in Moscow to equal away record
MANCHESTER UNITED equalled the Champions League away record - and put one foot in the last 16
Antonio Valencia's late winner clinched a 14th Euro away trip without defeat - a feat set by Ajax between 1994-97.

Boss Alex Ferguson said: "I think we should be proud of it. It's not easy away from home in Europe, we've been to some fantastic places over the years."
United probably need just one point from three games to make it into the knockout stages once again.
And Fergie added: "We show maturity. There's a way of playing away in Europe and you saw it tonight. We showed good patience, kept good possession.
"I'm very pleased with the performance. The plastic surface was never a problem because good players can play on any surface.
"We showed a lot of patience in the first half, which is necessary away from home. In the second-half, we showed more penetration and created some good opportunities, but if you have to wait until the 86th minute, then so be it.
"I've always maintained we need 10 points. We host CSKA next, so we have the opportunity to ensure we go through."
It was Valencia's second goal in as many games following his £16million summer switch from Wigan.
Ferguson said: "Valencia has been a plus point for the last few weeks. He is emerging very well, settling into the club and his confidence is getting stronger.
"He has tremendous assets for a wide player, but the assets he didn't show at Wigan were his goals, where he would maybe get three or four a season. This was his challenge when he signed for us. Two in two games will help him."

Ferguson said he brought off Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes in the second half to save them for Sunday's clash with Liverpool। Fabio was helped off at the end but only had cramp.
