Cruise control ... Tom has grand plans for David Beckham's career
TOM CRUISE last night revealed that he has been urging pal DAVID BECKHAM to get into acting.
The pair have become close chums since footie ace Becks moved to the US.
Tom reckons the 35-year-old idol has the talent to be a movie hit.
Speaking at the London premiere of his film Knight And Day, Tom said: "I've been encouraging him to become an actor. He's got the looks, he's got everything. He'd be terrific."
Tom was joined in Leicester Square by co-star CAMERON DIAZ.
Cameron, dressed in a STELLA MCCARTNEY number, said working with Tom was "so much fun".
