Rap star ... performed greatest hits

IT takes a lot to overshadow the mighty JAY-Z. But the celebrities watching his headlining performance last night were almost as impressive as the man himself.

MADONNA, BEYONCE, PRINCESS BEATRICE, GWYNETH PALTROW, KATE MOSS, AMY WINEHOUSE, LEWIS HAMILTON, JENSON BUTTON and wee JOE McELDERRY all grabbed top seats.

The atmosphere, warmed up by LILY ALLEN, was hysterical. I gave Jay stick when he headlined Glasto but it was impossible not to be swept up by such a superb performance.
It was a greatest hits set. 99 Problems came early, quickly followed by Can I Get A and Public Service Announcement.
Then he said: "I consider London my second home," before delivering Empire State Of Mind only halfway through.
Jay mellowed the mood when he brought on protege J. COLE for A Star Is Born. Then he went into a heartfelt version of Thank You before teasing everyone with nuggets of '03 Bonnie And Clyde and Girls, Girls, Girls. The climax was a trio of Big Pimpin and Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem) then Forever Young with MR HUDSON.
