A COUPLE of years ago I put the welly boot into Glastonbury for booking JAY-Z.

I never thought a hip-hop headliner was right for the UK's biggest festival. But this year the rhymes rescued an event sorely lacking a huge main act.
SNOOP DOGG was the undeniable highlight of the 40th anniversary - just edging it ahead of the incredible weather.
His cameo with GORILLAZ on Friday night, along with his own slot on the bill, were the only things to make up for U2's absence due to BONO's back injury.
MUSE didn't do it for me on Saturday.
They make an impressive noise but the best part of their set was their cover of NINA SIMONE's Feeling Good and when U2's THE EDGE appeared on stage to play Where The Streets Have No Name.
Muse fans will have loved it but I doubt it'll win over any neutrals. All the punters talked about all weekend was Snoop and sunshine.
This was a big celebration.
Surely ROBERT PLANT and JIMMY PAGE could have settled their differences for one last hurrah on the Pyramid Stage with LED ZEP? Or even a cheeky PINK FLOYD reunion.
UK hip-hop artists TINIE TEMPAH, PROFESSOR GREEN and TINCHY STRYDER also made the weekend well worthwhile.
One of the highlights was catching Tinie performing to 100 fans at the Orange RockCorps in the Chill & Charge tent - one of the best places to kick about during the festival.
The Bizarre crew had a great time at Glasto but it wasn't a vintage year for performances.
Snoop Dogg's Glasto rating: Five out of five
Tinie Tempah's Glasto rating: Five out of five
Muse's Glasto rating: Three out of five
Gorillaz's Glasto rating: Three out of five
