Anacostia Graduation Speech
Also on Friday, First Lady Michelle Obama delivered an emotional commencement address to graduates of Washington D.C.’s Anacostia High School. During her speech she talked about the sacrifices her parents made for her and her brother. In addition, she offered them encouragement in the face of adversity. “Perhaps there were those who wanted to write you off, maybe because of assumptions they made about you or your school or your community. But every day you're proving them wrong.”

That evening, the Obamas attended a one-man show starring Lawrence Fishburne in the play Thurgood at Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center. Thurgood is about the life of the United States’ first African American Supreme Court Justice.
Call to Cameron
President Obama spoke to U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron on Saturday. Cameron expressed sadness over the BP oil spill and its damaging effects. During the call both leaders agreed that the company should continue to take the steps to cope with the catastrophe.

Meeting Residents
Obama is greeted soon after stepping off of the plane at Gulfport Biloxi Airport in Gulfport, Miss.
Laying Out a Plan
Speaking to media, Obama laid out the steps he and his adminstration are taking to cope with the devastating spill's aftermath. During the course of the trip, the President will visit Gulfport, Mississippi, Theodore, Alabama, and Pensacola, Florida, to survey the response efforts, visit with gulf residents impacted by the spill, and meet with area officials.
Meeting with BP Head
On Wednesday, the President will meet with BP Chairman of the Board Carl-Henric Svanberg at the White House. Later in the day, the President will address the American Nurses Association.
Meetings at the White House
The president will hold meetings at the White House Thursday and Friday.
