In L.A. Galaxy, far, far, away...

Shoot to thrill ... David Beckham is held at gun point

'Wasn't me' ... David Beckham in telly ad

Alien adventure ... David Beckham
Alien adventure ... David Beckham

A LONG time ago in an LA Galaxy far, far away SNOOP DOGG, DAVID BECKHAM and NOEL GALLAGHER appeared in Star Wars.

No, I haven't been on the Special Brew again. It's all part of yet another brilliant World Cup advert about to hit our screens.
The three modern-day Jedi knights are appearing in an amazing Adidas telly commercial alongside DAFT PUNK, FRANZ BECKENBAUER and IAN BROWN which features the famous Mos Eisley Cantina scene from Star Wars Episode IV.
Bigwigs at the sports giant must've used all their Jedi mind tricks to secure the deal with Lucasfilm, the firm behind the sci-fi empire, to tinker with the classic bar brawl.

Snoop Skywalker ... Dogg with lightsaber
SNOOP DOGG has the leading role with every bloke's dream - wielding Luke Skywalker's lightsaber in a scrap.
The ad centres around Noel and STONE ROSES legend Browny making mischief.
While Obi-Wan Kenobi gets the drinks in, the two Manc characters start whizzing beer mats around the pub causing some bar room bother.
A bit like any afternoon back home in 1990 for the pals.
The scene ends with Becks making his excuses when Stormtroopers come into the boozer pointing the finger at the LA Galaxy star for a murder in a booth.
OASIS Lord Noel said: "I've had a few wild tear-ups with some real characters in my time.
Noel
They should have the F.E.A.R. ... Ian Brown and Noel Gallagher
"But Chewbacca and R2-D2? That was a real zone."
The advert is expertly moulded together with the latest in computer wizardry.
A source said: "It was a huge job trying to integrate new shots of Beckham, Snoop and Co into original Star Wars footage."
The ad campaign launches during the England v USA match next Saturday.
Mos Eisley was "the most wretched hive of scum and villainy" in the galaxy, according to Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Isn't that how South Africa has been described leading up to the World Cup?
