Rihanna Hits the Stage in Israel
Rihanna made a stop in Tel Aviv this past weekend during her “Last Girl on Earth” tour. It was the Barbadian singer’s first visit to Israel and she described it as an “amazing experience.” Her performance was good for the community too; the entire audience at her Tel Aviv show had to do community service to get a concert ticket. “It was really unique the way they put this show together, where the kids had to do something positive,” said Rihanna.

Oil Sheen Headed to Florida Beaches
As more and more oil leaks from the BP spill, oil is reaching a few of the U.S.’s coasts, and could hit the sands of Florida’s Pensacola Beach soon. Officials have already confirmed oil sheen about nine miles off the state’s coast. In Mississippi, Gov. Haley Barbour says a two-mile long, three-foot wide strand of oil has been found on Petit Bois Island. And in Alabama, patches of oil have washed up on Dauphin Island near the mouth of Mobile Bay.

Top-ranked tennis star Serena Williams lost in the quarterfinals of the French Open Wednesday to Australia’s Samantha Stosur, 6-2, 6-7 (2), 8-6. The upset was the second in a row for the No. 7-seeded Stosur.

7 Die in Holiday Weekend Shootings in Baltimore
A series of Memorial Day weekend shootings left seven people dead and three injured in Baltimore. In total there were 10 shootings since last Friday and most of them appeared to be related to drug activity, according to a police spokesman. In two of the fatal shootings, police have identified persons of interest, and charges are pending against one of them.

On Tuesday, Drake announced on Twitter that he’d be visiting Lil Wayne in prison. “FINALLY got some time for a visit tmrw to go see my brother,” he tweeted. “So if you got msgs that need to be delivered write #TellWayne.” Last month P. Diddy paid the rapper a visit at Rikers Island. Lil Wayne, who entered the facility in March, was sentenced to serve a year.

Garcelle Beauvais Files For Divorce
Actress Garcelle Beauvais filed for divorce earlier last month from husband Michael Nilon, TMZ reports. The couple has been married for nine years and they have 2-year-old twin boys. Garcelle is requesting joint legal and physical custody of the kids and is also asking the judge not to award any spousal support to Nilon. In an email sent out in April to her husband’s coworkers she accused him of having an affair.

On Wednesday evening, President Obama presented former Beatle Paul McCartney with the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, awarded by the Library of Congress. During his speech, the president said McCartney had “helped to lay the soundtrack for an entire generation.” During a 90-minute concert, McCartney serenaded Michelle Obama with "Michelle," aiming its romantic lyrics straight at the first lady. Stevie Wonder and a host of other celebs also performed.

First Lady Michelle Obama promoted healthy lifestyles among women and children Tuesday in Nevada and tried to help breathe life into the re-election campaign of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, calling him "one of my favorite people in the world. Over the years, he has been a tireless advocate on behalf of women," Obama told about 1,600 people in a keynote address to a women's summit in a downtown Reno convention hall.
