LeBron's Elbow Not An Issue
Cleveland Cavalier LeBron James proved that his elbow wasn’t an issue, scoring a game-high 38 points in a Game 3 124-95 victory over the Boston Celtics. James and the Cavs had no answer for Rajon Rondo in Game 4 as the series is tied up at 2-2 and headed back to Cleveland.
Braden Pitches Perfect Game
Oakland Athletics pitcher Dallas Braden was the 19th pitcher in Major League Baseball history to throw a perfect game, defeating Tampa Bay 4-0. The emotional Braden lost his mother to skin cancer while in high school, making this Mother’s Day outing that much more special for the Stockton, Calif. native.
Spurs Swept By The Suns
Even with a swollen right eye, Phoenix Suns guard Steve Nash couldn’t be stopped Sunday night. Nash scored 10 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter as the Phoenix Suns swept the San Antonio Spurs following a 107-101 victory. Spurs forward Tim Duncan accidently elbowed Nash, requiring six stitches and a bandage.
Lakers One Win From Sweep
Thanks to back-to-back three pointers from Derek Fisher and Kobe Bryant, the Los Angeles Lakers were able to escape with a 111-110 victory over the Utah Jazz in Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals. The Lakers will go for the sweep on Monday night.
Chelsea Wins Premiership Title
Behind a hat trick from Didier Drogba, Chelsea clinched their first Premier League title since 2006 in a 8-0 thrashing over Wigan. The Blues edged out Manchester United for the top spot in the league and was the first team to score more than 100 goals since Tottenham in 1962-63.
Woods Injured At TPC
Tiger Woods suddenly withdrew from The Players Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. on Sunday with a neck injury. Woods fears he might have a bulging disk, leaving many to wonder if the car accident last November might be the reason for the injury.
